Wulingyuan Mountains

 These are mountains that inspired the creators of "Avatar" by their fantastic landscape. The National Park is located near the city Zhangjiajie. It is quite large in size, almost 400 square kilometers, so some tourists go here for a week to take a quick look. Wulingyuan is a scenic area in Hunan Province, China. The park is famous for the natural columns of sandstone. Some of them reach more than eight hundred meters high. There are about three thousand one hundred such columns.

The district is a part of the city of Zhangjiajie. It is divided into four main zones, the National Park and three national geoparks. The total area of ​​the region is about 391 square kilometers. 250 square kilometers are quite picturesque places which are open to tourists. In addition to the legendary columns, there are karstic caves, waterfalls and unspoiled forest areas.
