Beppu Hot Springs

Sacred Beppu hot springs in Japan contain the largest amount of thermal hot water in the world after the geysers of Yellowstone Park in the USA. The most famous area is Nine hells which consists of nine springs, each of them has its own unique features. These springs simply amaze with their diversity. There is a blue steam spring that is called Sea Hell. There is a pond with boiling mud. There is a white spring and there is the Hell mountain of monsters where crocodiles are bred. But the most attractive and famous is the spring which is called the Bloody Pond. The water in it is bright-scarlet and its temperature reaches 90 degrees Celsius.
Beppu has become popular with tourists since it was built in 1924. The steam here goes through every available crack and it seems the city is on a giant frying pan over a large fire. Every year this place is visited by about 12 million tourists from all over the world.
