Antelope Canyon is an amazing creation of nature. These are bizarre sandy cliffs with a giant slot illuminated by a delightful magical light. For several centuries water and wind have been carving holes in the red sandstone several hundred meters away. Every few years during the showers, each canyon, usually dry throughout the year, is flooded with water. The rainwater, slowly draining and carrying away grains of sand, has been forming these graceful lines inside the rocks for many years. The canyon received its name thanks to red walls that look like antelope skin.
